Founder/CEO profile Dr. Alexander Oraevsky

Dr. Alexander A. Oraevsky presently referred as the father of biomedical optoacoustic imaging in the world. He received his initial training in physics and mathematics from the Moscow Physical and Engineering Institute (National Nuclear Research University) in Moscow, Russia, and obtained a doctorate from the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1986. He began his pioneering research in the field of optoacoustic imaging, sensing and monitoring in 1988. Dr. Alexander is the recipient of multiple research awards advancing biomedical applications of the optoacoustic imaging sensing and monitoring ,(including international Berthold Leibinger Innovations Prize 2014). He is also the lead inventor of 21 patents, has published 11 book chapters and more than 200 highly cited scientific papers describing new biomedical laser technologies for imaging, sensing, and therapy (citations >14,000, H-Index-54, i10-index-175). His research was funded by a $19 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense and private foundations.
